Principal's Message

August 22, 2022

Dear Adams Families,

I am happy to welcome you back to school.  First let's take a minute and look back at everything that has happened over the past three years.

  • We went through a school closure
  • We had online learning
  • We had hybrid learning
  • We had in-person learning with distance rules
  • Families dealt with the impacts and losses from COVID-19

For most, this was a lifetime of changes that took place over three short years.  From me and all of our staff, thank you for your support.

All these changes made the staff consider what mattered most at Adams for staff, students and families.  This lead us to write the Adams Purpose statement:

Our purpose at Adams is to empower and motivate each student with the social and academic skills needed to achieve at grade level and beyond, while working in partnership with our Wapato families and community.

To make this happen, staff have met over the summer and designed common activities that will take place in all classrooms across the building, things like: morning check-ins with all students and reflective discourse.  As we move through the 22-23 school year please consider our purpose and how we can meet students’ needs.

Here are some important upcoming dates:

August 22 Office Opens to the Public (8:00am-4:00pm)

August 30 Adams Open House (5:00pm-7:00pm)

September 6 First Day of School (Learning begins @ 8:35am)

September 13 Adams PTO Meeting (5:30pm)

September 22 Coffee with the Principal (7:45am-8:30am)

*WSD was able to purchase school supplies, backpacks not included, for students.
